The Road To Spannabis: Dan's Dispatch (1/16/25)
It's the 8 weeks leading up to Spannabis! I'm traveling across Europe to visit farms in the burgeoning European scene. Specifically, visiting farmers who are focused on high quality, flavor and aroma rich, hand trimmed flower. While some flavors requested for Europe are designer, exotic "modern" weed; most Germans still haven't experienced a real OG, or classic flavors like Blue Dream, so finding farmers who want to bring the classic flavors to Europe is a huge to do. I'm also going to be visiting social clubs, meeting breeders / collectors, and trying to find some lost cuts like the "Riri" Sour Diesel. Beyond excited to share this journey with you all.
Quick Dispatch from Barcelona (1/17/25, 5 PM)
Here’s a quick update from the headquarters in Barcelona, where the vibes are lively, even at the end of a workday. People are wrapping up their week, laptops out, joints lit, and conversations flowing in multiple languages. The pool table is buzzing, and the after-work crowd is starting to fill the space.
The menu here is as diverse as the crowd. Strains are categorized into “mostly sativa” and “mostly indica”, with a few European varieties mixed in alongside popular U.S. strains like Sherbanger. While options like hash holes are limited, the selection reflects a growing mix of local and international influences—a testament to the city’s role as a cannabis hub in Europe.
